Young alums challenged by Bittmans

For the third consecutive year, Chris Bittman ('85) and his wife, Kenda Noble ('82 A&S), encourage young alumni of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication from the classes of 1988 through 1998 to become members of the "First Decade Club."

Chris and Kenda will match all gifts of $10 to $100 — dollar for dollar — from each person who makes a first-time gift in that range. They also will match all gifts from previous donors who agree to increase their annual gifts by 10 percent.

"Young alumni involvement is critical to the School's continued prominence. We encourage recent graduates to stay involved and enjoy the satisfaction of seeing their time and money directly impact the School's success," Chris Bittman said.

Fifty percent of all money generated from the Challenge will go to the Bittman/Noble Endowment Fund, which was established to foster and develop giving patterns and increase involvement of new alums.

The other half will go to the Dean's Fund for Excellence, which the Dean of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication directs to the School's most critical funding needs.
