Helga Tawil, M.A. (helga.tawil@colorado.edu) is a first year doctoral student in media studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is the web master for this site, and in her participation in the research team looks at issues of identity concerning the Internet. Her interests lie in the area of Internet evolution and theory. Prior to to her doctoral studies, Helga was an Internet consultant in the areas of strategy, design and e-commerce, having founded two Internet firms since 1994. Some of her web work can be seen at helga.com. Helga is of Palestinian/Armenian background and grew up in various parts of the Middle East and Europe.
