Exceptional Graduate Education
Over nearly 120 years, the Graduate School at the University of Colorado at Boulder has awarded master's and doctoral degrees to many thousands of students who have gone on to become leaders and important contributors in their respective fields.
Whether you have graduated recently or in years past, as our alumni, you stand among these ranks, and we value your ongoing contributions and input to the university, the state, the region, the nation, and the world.
How may we serve you?
One question we are currently holding at the Graduate School is how we may better serve our graduates. We invite your input regarding ways that we may be able to provide useful information or opportunities – beyond what your department and the CU-Boulder Alumni Association are able to provide. Please let us know if any of the following would be truly useful or of interest to you:
- Regular email newsletter of events and news pertinent to graduate students and alumni from across the Boulder campus,
- Professional networking opportunities, either online or in person, among graduate students and alumni from across the Boulder campus,
- Other publications, events, or online resources.
Please contact Merlyn Holmes, who directs our communications efforts, with your input.
Continuing in Excellence
Even with our legacy of accomplishments, we realize there is no time for resting on our laurels. Exceptional graduate education is more and more essential to prepare today’s professionals for our future on this planet. Unprecedented global and societal changes today require that graduates are exceptionally well prepared.
Our world's citizens must include leaders, scientists, educators and their collaborators across many fields in order to solve challenging problems, and the Graduate School is rising to that occasion in preparing our students and raising the funds to support them in their work.
Fundraising Priorities
The Graduate School has two, simple, high priorities for fundraising:
- Graduate student support, primarily in the form of fellowships and awards, and
- Faculty support, primarily in the form of endowed chairs.
We invite your contributions for these worthy purposes, and we give a hearty thank you to those of you who have contributed in the past.
Making a Gift: To discuss your ideas and interests in giving, please contact Pat Sullivan, Senior Director of Development at the CU-Foundation for the Graduate School, at (303) 541-1475 or pat.sullivan@cufund.org or make an online contribution today through the Foundation's website. The Graduate School's top two online funds of choice are:
Support Graduate School Mission: The Dean’s Fund is a discretionary fund, which allows the Dean of the Graduate School to provide supplementary support to areas that need it most -- such as graduate fellowships and faculty and graduate programs at CU-Boulder.
Support Graduate Student Education: The Beverly Sears Student Research Award helps a talented student pursue his/her individual passion for learning. A hands-on research experience within each student's individual course of study provides opportunities for discovery, new insights and ways of learning. The student, as an active researcher and learner, can develop critical knowledge and skills for the future.
