Boulder is quite active for a town of 100,000
people, with a very high concentration of high-tech industries that harbor an educated and
cultured population. It is widely regarded as an excellent place to be a student, and
there is no lack of cultural activites. A small selection:
In addition to the University and its attendant student areas, all near campus, there is the downtown Pearl Street mall, lined with shops and peppered with street performers. The compact area of the city makes it easy to get around, and let us not forget the many fine restaurants. The Denver metro area is literally a sports-fan's paradise: The CU Buffaloes regularly rank in the top ten of the nation's college football teams and both the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Avalanche brought home national titles during the past two years. And, despite recent struggles in the NL West, the Colorado Rockies continue to draw large crowds to beautiful Coors Field.
