Our Advisory Board

The Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Colorado, Boulder, is assisted by an Advisory Board comprised of professional geologists representing industry, federal agencies and academia. The board consists of 15 to 20 members who serve staggered three-year terms; more than half are alumni of the Department.

The Board meets twice each year to address a wide range of issues of importance to the Department, ranging from the role of higher education, and our response to rapid population growth in Colorado, to changes in our discipline and how our unit can provide a curriculum at both undergraduate and graduate levels that prepares students as modern earth scientists. The perspective of senior professionals provides valuable insights that enhance the development of the Department's programs.
