PhD SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR UNDERREPRESENTED MINORITIES (AFRICAN-AMERICAN, HISPANIC, NATIVE AMERICAN) IN THE GEOSCIENCES AT UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO, BOULDER

The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Department of Geological Sciences, and the Graduate School at CU-Boulder have joined forces to provided Sloan Fellowships for African-American, Hispanic, and Native American students to study for a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences. The fellowship package provides about $1600 per month, plus tuition, for four years and includes support as a teaching assistant for two of those years. There are no restrictions on the student’s area of interest. The fellowship is available to any minority scholar who will work with any faculty member in the Department.

We are looking for students who have a good academic record, who have demonstrated a strong interest in the geological sciences, and who are committed to earning the degree. Applicant must be US citizens.
