GLBT Scholarship Opportunities2007-2008 Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Ally (GLBTA) Focused Scholarships at CU-Boulder
The GLBT Resource Center, the LBGT Alumni Association, the LGBT Studies Certificate Program and the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences sponsor the scholarships listed below.
These scholarships are made available through many generous donors. Scholarships Coordinated by the GLBT Resource CenterGLBT Scholarship FundThe GLBT Scholarship Fund is a $2000 A year award ($1,000 per semester) for undergraduates who have a record of service in making CU-Boulder a more hospitable place for GLBT people. Preference to first year students who have demonstrated satisfactory academic progress. Applicants do not have to demonstrate financial need. Joel Roger Wayne Scholarship The Joel Roger Wayne Scholarship is a financial need-based $1500 academic-year award ($750 per semester) established to provide support to undergraduate GLBT students seeking degrees in human services fields. Positive Futures Scholarship The Positive Futures Scholarship is a $1500 academic-year award ($750 per semester) established to provide financial support to students whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS. Additional Eligibility Criteria:
Scholarships Coordinated by the LGBT Studies Certificate ProgramThe Karen Raforth ScholarshipThe Karen Raforth Scholarship is a $1000 academic-year award ($1000 at beginning of the year) in the LGBT Studies Certificate Program. Named for Dr. Karen Raforth, who for years devoted her time and talent to the struggle of justice for GLBT faculty, staff and students at CU-Boulder. Applicants must demonstrate leadership and involvement with LBGT issues and community as well as other campus and community organizations. Additional Eligibility Criteria:
Scholarship Coordinated by the LBGT Alumni AssociationLGBT Alumni ScholarshipThe $1,000 LBGT Alumni Association Scholarships will go to will go to academically outstanding GLBT undergraduate or graduate students who have a demonstrable record of service in helping to make the Boulder campus a more hospitable place for LBGT students, faculty and staff and/or similar service in the Boulder community at large. The scholarships, for the 2007-2008 academic year, will be awarded for meritorious service and academic achievement. Additional Eligibility Criteria:
