Lavender Graduation, which is co-sponsored by the Alumni Association and the GLBTQ Resource Center, includes a reception and a keynote speech. In addition, all graduates participating in the ceremony receive a certificate, rainbow tassel, and gifts from the Alumni Association.
Any GLBTQI or ally graduating student (undergrad, graduate, or professional) who is graduating in the calendar year of the ceremony (Spring, Summer, or Fall) is welcome and encouraged to participate.

Keynote Speaker - Nicole Garcia|
Nicole Garcia is an out and proud transgender Latina. Nicole transitioned while employed as a law enforcement officer in Colorado. Nicole received her B.A.in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1982. Nicole is a co-chair of the board of directors of ReconcilingWorks: Lutherans for Full Participation; on the board of TransFaith; on the board of the One Colorado Education Fund; and president of the The Schiff Dance Collective. Nicole is on track to earn an M.A. in counseling from the University of Colorado Denver in December 2013. Nicole has been granted Entrance to the candidacy process toward ordained ministry by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Nicole has been accepted to Luther Seminary (St. Paul MN) and anticipates beginning the journey toward an M. Div. in August 2013.
