Posters for
the Design Expo
In addition to displaying your finished hardware at the Design Expo,
you will need a poster to explain the project. The poster will have a lot
of the same content as your final oral presentation, but you can be more
creative with graphics and color. A grade
sheet is attached which details the content expectations. Use a standard
three-panel foam core poster backing, available from McGuckins or Art Hardware.
There is a chapter in the textbook on poster techniques. The textbook is
available in the classroom and on
the web. Your goal is to interest your audience in your project and
inform them about the essentials. Your target audience is other first-year
engineering students who are unfamiliar with your project, so make the
level and detail of your explanations appropriate for them. They should
be able to understand what you’ve done and why just from reading the poster.
