Faculty Computer Purchase Program - BFA-R-11-1002 - October 3, 2002
  That UCB will decrease the replacement cycle to 4 years, with some exceptions.  UCB will generally move to a four-year replacement cycle with some exceptions for faculty whose technology needs may require more frequent or less frequent replacement. Faculty Merit Database - BFA-R-10-0502 - May 2, 2002
  That the University will institute a database of individual tenure and TT faculty and instructors' merit evaluations.  

The Executive Committee is investigating where to find accessible data for the project. It is likely that the BFA will produce an initial version of the database. (11.20.02 -SS)

The Associate Vice Chancellor for Faculty Affairs does not collect the numerical ratings on individual faculty members: only the category such as "meets expectations" is reported to the AVC-FA. (12.12.02 -SS)

Note from the Office of the AVC for Faculty Affairs, December 2002:

"We have changed our way of paying faculty salaries so that faculty on summer grants don't get shortchanged the one week between the end of the summer and the beginning of the fall semester. Now that we're using contract instead of monthly pay, the contract feature will ensure the faculty member receives their full 3/9ths pay. The week gap won't be problematic because we'll simply calculate what their allowable 3/9ths compensation is, set it up as a contract, and the system will pay it out fully. So, while we can't change the dates of the summer calendar, as BFA had suggested, we have found another way by which to ensure full 3/9ths compensation."
