Resolution: Waivers of Faculty Rights

Whereas, the University strongly supports academic freedom, diversity, and equal opportunity;

Therefore, the University shall not, as a condition of normal employment, promotion, tenure, or retirement procedures, require faculty to waive any of their legal rights. In special situations, where waivers may be appropriate, they shall be limited as narrowly as possible to apply only to the specific context.
