Bio
Cosetta Seno Reed received her laurea in English and Russian Literature from the University of Macerata (Italy). After living in England and Russia, where she worked for a non-profit organization, she moved to the United States where she received an M.A. in Italian Literature from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D in Italian Studies from the University of California at Berkeley. Before coming to CU, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Georgetown University and at the Catholic University of America. She specializes in the Italian Fantastic Literary Tradition and in the Contemporary Italian Literature and Culture, with particular emphasis on Women's Literature and Italian Feminist Criticism. She has published in Italy and in the US and she is currently working on a book on Anna Maria Ortese, in which she investigates Ortese's revision and re-interpretation of recent Italian history through the "tool" of fantasy.
