Graduate Program
Currently, the department does not offer a graduate degree in ethnic studies. However, almost all of our faculty work closely with graduate students in other departments. Our faculty serve on masters’ thesis committees, doctoral dissertation committees, and also serve as research advisors and supervisors. At the present time, the department is in the initial stages of developing a proposal for the development of a doctoral program in ethnic studies. The proposal will build on the strengths of our current faculty, and of faculty rostered in other departments who have expertise and interests in ethnic studies research and scholarship. The doctoral program, therefore, will be both multi- and inter-disciplinary. As we move ahead on this proposal, we will keep you informed about our progress in this area.
