Dr. Deward Walker

Bio
After being discharged from the Army in 1956, Dr. Walker returned to college and resumed his training in Anthropology. He came to the University of Colorado in 1969 from the Northwest where he had served as Chair of the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at the University of Idaho. His graduate training had been at the University of Oregon and the University of the Americas, and his first job was at George Washington University followed by a two year employment at Washington State University. While at the University of Colorado, he has conducted research with tribes of the Plains, Northwest, and Great Basin and currently has more than 200 publications of various kinds. He has trained a number of graduate students in Anthropology and has always enjoyed teaching undergraduates.
