New Faculty Appointments 2006-2007

The Department of Ethnic Studies is very fortunate to have two of the most distinguished figures in Chicana/o and American Indian literary and creative studies join the faculty: Linda Hogan and Dr. Shu-Ling Berggreen. In Spring 2007, we will have Dr. Lorna Dee Cervantes, one of the top nationally recognized experts in intercultural mass media, serve as a visiting professor.

Distinguished Scholar in Residence Linda Hogan
Professor Hogan, the highly acclaimed and award-winning poet, novelist, playwright and scholar of American Indian Studies, will join the faculty of Ethnic Studies. Professor Hogan will offer courses and actively mentor students interested in American Indian Studies.

Visiting Professors
Lorna Dee Cervantes, Professor of Creative Writing and English, CU Boulder
The highly distinguished poet, philosopher and feminist, Lorna Dee Cervantes will teach a creative writing seminar in Spring 2007, and mentor students interested in creative expression.

Dr, Shu-Ling Berggreen, Associate Professor, CU Boulder School of Journalism and Mass Communication
Professor Shu-Ling Berggreen will offer a course in Media Studies and mentor students interested in issues surrounding multicultural media and representation.
