  1. Working papers: These papers take the format of short answers to numerous questions. (The working paper is *not an essay format). Questions will be distributed by email 3-5 days before the papers are due. Four must be sent by email on time on the due date specified.
  2. Examinations. There will be two exams during the semester, distributed by email and due about 3-7 days later. The final exam is scheduled and date and time appear on the syllabus.
  3. Production analysis. One analysis of one aspect of a film (w/screenplay by a woman) that you have viewed is due no later than 11.59 p.m. on Friday 21 April 2006. Send your 450-700 word analysis from your UCB account to R.Widmann@Colorado.edu
  4. Oral presentation. These presentations, which should be well-rehearsed, should last about 7-12 minutes. Topics may be on materials assigned for that class. Most people choose to do Power Point presentations.
  5. Group presentation. These group presentations provide information for class members on works that not all people have yet read or worked on.
  6. Use of technology:
    a. All students in this section will be required to use their UCB computer accounts and UCB email.
    b. All materials for this course, such as the syllabus and questions for papers and questions for exams, will be distributed electronically. Students will be required to use their computer accounts available through the University of Colorado at Boulder.
    c. Students will be subscribed to an electronic list limited to people registered in this section.
    d. This section will be conducted primarily in 1B45 Humanities, where each student will have an individual work station. We will use the various technologies available to us and there will be classroom instruction and support services for the hardware and software.
