Illustration Booklet

Respondents had a notebook size Illustration Booklet consisting of four sets of illustrations. The Illustration Booklet has not yet been made available on the Web. The following is a listing of its contents.

 

Illustration One: Examples of Outdoor U.S. Monuments
This one-page illustration consists of five pictures of the following outdoor monuments:
- Lincoln Memorial (Washington, D.C.)
- Great Memorial Lion (Washington, D.C.)
- Soldiers' and Sailors' Monuments (Boston, MA)
- Samuel Gross Monument (Philadephia, PA)
- U.S. Capitol Building (Washington, D.C.).

Illustration Two: Examples of Washington, D.C. Marble Monuments This two-page illustration consists of nine pictures of the following monuments in Washington, D.C.: - Jefferson Memorial - Abraham Lincoln - Supreme Court Building - Peace Monument (two pictures) - Shakespeare scene at Folger Shakespeare Library - Washington Monument - a statue at the Founders of the Daughters of the American Revolution - a statue at the North American Organization of American States Building

Illustration Three: Outdoor Marble Monuments in Washington, D.C. This illustion consists two pages: the first page is a listing of approximately 100 outdoor marble monuments in Washington, D.C; the second page is a map of Washington, D.C. showing the location of 24 monuments of the monuments listed.

Illustration Four: Erosion and Chemical Alteration This illustration consists of two pictures showing erosion, one picture showing both erosion and chemical alteration, and one picture showing only chemical alteration.
