To what extent does the finiteness of natural resources limit growth?

There are many articles out there about global warming. For the most recent ones in the NYTimes go to the NYTimes web site and seach under terms such as "limits to growth", "growth", and "scarcity". Do not limit the search to today's paper, and make sure you are searching the "site" rather than the site of one of their advertisers (e.g. Barnes and Noble). If you choose to purchase an article from the NYT Archives, it will cost a couple of bucks, articles from today's paper can be downloaded for free. The first time you go the NYT website you will have to register.
