SYLLABUS

ANNOUNCEMENTS

·        First day of class: Tue, August 23, 2004

·        When you come to class the first day, you have to be prepared to talk about your precise interests –

·        What field of economics would you like to write a thesis in?

·        Who would you like as your faculty advisor?

·        Do you have any special skills or connections (e.g. a second language skill, access through proprietary data through your employer or family) that you would like to exploit for your thesis?

·        Students need to identify a topic area and find a faculty advisor right away.

·        Print out some Peer Evaluation Forms from the link below and bring them to class

ASSIGNMENTS

*     If you have an idea for a thesis topic, think of the exact research questions you’d like to answer.  Frame it in the form of a question, with a ‘?’ at the end.
