The mission of the Ethnic Living and Learning Community(ELLC)Leadership Studies Program at Williams Village is to become a model 21st Century program of Colorado’s “Flagship University” by educating first-year students for leadership roles in a global and multicultural setting through an innovative, forward looking curriculum that sets high standards for scholarship and leadership which fosters lasting commitment to the betterment of society.

Stearns East at Williams Village is home to the ELLC. This residential academic program is devoted to the development of leaders committed to building an intentional multicultural community while studying leadership and developing skills that will enable them to become successful leaders in diverse groups and environments. The ELLC will challenge you to think beyond notions of leadership in relation to hierarchies and power, and to recognize that building community, ethics, respect and valuing diversity are hallmarks of contemporary leadership study and practice.

Some advantages of joining the ELLC include:

  • Outstanding faculty offering small, seminar-style leadership courses where discussion and critical thinking skills are emphasized
  • Progression toward a Certificate in the Study and Practice of Leadership  
  • Academic and social support  available through partnerships with key campus resources
  • Co-curricular activities including visiting speakers, social change projects and leadership summits  that strengthen community and advance leadership skills through experiential learning
  • Supportive community of peers committed to building an intentional multicultural community.
  • Financial assistance for the annual $725 residential academic program fee
