The Independent Learning Program in conjunction with the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences is offering a non-credit Certificate Program in Sustainable Practices. This program focuses primarily around building and energy sciences and offers a wide range of introductory and intermediate course options.
Our courses are intended to interest a diverse audience including working professionals investigating Green building and renewable energy options, do-it-yourself home owners seeking ways to reduce energy use and live more sustainably, K-12 teachers needing CEUs and looking for ways to enhance and expand their science curriculum, and anyone interested in reducing their impact upon our environment.
The courses listed on the left are all offered individually for continuing education credits and most can be applied towards the Sustainable Practices Certificate. Courses vary in cost depending upon length; most courses are 1 to 3 days and are offered during the weekends. Each full day of instruction is considered 8 contact hours; to earn your Sustainable Practices Certificate just complete 100 contact hours within a three-year time frame. There is no application required - you can call and register for your first course today!
We continue to add new courses and will have our first online courses available by the end of 2008. Please review each course individually for specific course details, costs and registration information. Financial Aid may be available for non-traditional students. All students should be aware of these important Program Policies.
