The pilgrimage center of Chitrakuta has a complex geometry in which major
shrines are contained in a series of interlocking triangles, which are icons
of Rama. The major axes of the patterns are aligned to the rising sun (toward
Valmiki Ashram) and setting sun (toward Bharatakupa) at summer solstice. |
