CU in the Community

CU-Boulder's Office of Community Relations is committed to partnership between the Boulder campus and Colorado communities. We integrate the university's education, research, and service mission with the goals and needs of the communities we serve. CU in the Community partnerships feature a diverse, interdisciplinary range of outreach programs from the Boulder campus, many of which are listed on the CU4K12 web site.

A local example of these partnerships is the City/CU Cooperative Banner Project on University Hill, which highlights programs and events of interest to the broader Boulder community.

Another example is the Community Closet, which provides area schools and nonprofit groups with gently used office and educational supplies. The Office of Community Relations also coordinates the Colorado Combined Campaign for the Boulder campus. CU in the Community also compiles a comprehensive listing of CU-Boulder summer camps and classes available for parents looking for engaging K-12 programs.

Statewide initiatives have included the successful CU at the Movies series and the Sustainable Tourism series. The Office of Community Relations partners with many programs on campus, traveling K-12 science, and humanities and arts programs throughout the state.

Community partners assist the program by coordinating and promoting CU in the Community activities and events in the local community and surrounding area. Partners also identify community resources, such as volunteers, local sponsorships, and in-kind support to assist and enhance these outreach programs.
