ITS is involved in an Directory Services project. Goals of this project include developing a robust and flexible directory service which includes a trusted and authoritative data source that can be used by a variety of UCB resources. To accomplish this, it is important that we understand how the campus would use a Directory Service and what the campus would expect from a successful Directory Service.

1. What kind of information do you expect to find in a directory?

2. What kind of data about other people would you like to have access to?

3. Do you use an existing CU directory service? How and how often?

4. Are there additional uses you can think of for an enterprise-wide directory?

5. What data about yourself would you like to see published in a general use UCB directory?

6. What applications could benefit from being directory-enabled? Please explain.

7. How could a directory help you get your own work done more efficiently?

8. How often do you or would you search against or read information from the directory? Which pieces of information do/would you search with?
