exam will consist of three parts:
identifications, multiple choice, essays.
Identifications
The
identifications will be taken only from the list offered below. There will be four questions taken from this
list of eight. You should be prepared to
give four or five sentences/bullet points which include all important
information: names, dates, places, major trends etc. The more information you
can give, the more likely you are to get full credit.

These questions will be on factual
information taken from either the lectures or the text-book (RVE). Use your
lecture outlines to help you boil down the material in the text. If we did not cover a subject from your
readings in lecture, it will not be on the multiple choice section of the test.

Essay
The essay
will cover material we read for our discussions on Fridays (Discussions 1-6).
The questions will be based on the reading guides that I have distributed in
class. There will be four essay topics so you should study material from at
least three reading guides to guarantee you get one you've prepared.
Extra Credit You can obtain up to 5% points of
extra credit for memorizing the emperors in the first column on the “Roman
