How to Use VPN on Windows VistaIf you use the client download from this website, the configuration should be preset and usable immediately. If for any reason this is not the case or you have downloaded an earlier client version, call the IT Service Center at 303-735-4357 (5-HELP from an on-campus phone) or uninstall the old client and then download and reinstall the latest VPN client from the Downloads and Instructions page. 1. Open the Start Menu. Click All Programs.
2. Click on the CU VPN folder.
3. Click on the CU VPN Client program.
4. Choose the connection entry that applies to you, and click Connect. In this example, we'll choose CU Boulder - Connecting From Off Campus. Connecting from Off Campus: Connecting from On Campus: Connecting from ResNet: 5. A new window should appear asking for your username and password. Put in your CU Login Name and IdentiKey password, then click OK.
6. The VPN should now provide a secure, encrypted connection to the CU Network. You will know you are connected by the small lock to the left of the connection, and the lock in your taskbar.
7. You can disconnect at anytime by clicking the Disconnect button in the VPN client.
