RedHat Linux Overview

Linux is a popular operating system that runs on many different computing platforms.

Impact of Daylight Saving Time Change on this Technology

Without patches, or other form of remediation, system time will be off by one hour during the delta period between March 11th and April 1st.

Remediation Steps for Customers

RedHat Linux is the version chosen, and supported, by ITS.  A patch has been released, and has been deployed on all systems managed by ITS.  Customers who use RedHat in a fashion not directly supported by ITS should confirm that they are current with all system patches.

Because of the wide variety of Linux versions that may be installed, it is impossible to address all possible installations on campus in this venue.  Campus users who are using a version of Linux other than RedHat Linux should check with the vendor for patch availability, or seek other forms of manual remediation.
