Oracle Overview

ITS uses Oracle database technology for several key applications, including CULearn, the Enterprise Directory and the Faculty Information System. Several campus departments use Oracle database technology internally for their vertical applications.

Impact of Daylight Saving Time Change on this Technology

Oracle Corp. has provided a diagnostic tool to determine the impact of DST on each individual database. This is because not all database make use of the time zone feature. No ITS - administered Oracle database is impacted by this change.

Remediation Steps for Customers

ITS recommends that individual departments running Oracle should run the diagnostic tool, and take the remediation steps recommend by Oracle corp on their support site.
