Daylight Saving Time 2007—Calendar Services: Exchange |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Exchange OverviewITS offers a Hosted Microsoft Exchange Server, available for a fee, to users seeking the shared calendaring, and other associated groupware functions. Impact of Daylight Saving Time Change on this TechnologyAll systems involved in the ITS Hosted Exchange System have been updated with patches issued by Microsoft to address the DST change. Additionally, a tool has been run which attempts to repair calendar items within the delta period, to make sure they show the correct time in the calendar. Remediation Steps for CustomersDue to the complexity of the environment, the timing with which Microsoft released various patches related to DST, and the various versions of clients which access the Exchange server, it is very likely that not all appointments could be repaired correctly. Users who are showing appointments that are incorrect during the delta period, even after the tool was run, should confirm that their Windows XP and Office installations are completely patched, by visiting http://update.microsoft.com, and choosing “Custom”, to check all patches that need to be applied to their workstation.
