Overview
ITS offers a variety of support for using technology in conjunction
with teaching. You can learn to create online course materials, experiment
with the latest technologies, work with distributed academic technology
coordinators to develop appropriate programs of technology for your course,
or simply work with ITS to order equipment for your own uses.
- Faculty
Computer Purchase Program— The Faculty Computer
Purchase Program helps support faculty as they incorporate technology
into their teaching and learning by giving them funds for a new computer
every four years.
- Technology
Coordinators—Eight
Distributed Academic & Campus
Technology Coordinators are assigned to various CU academic departments,
colleges and schools. They help faculty identify and use technology
resources in their teaching, research, and creative works.
- CULearn —Faculty
members can use CULearn to create online and interactive teaching
materials.
- CUClickers—A student response system that provides interactive class participation.
- Computing
Labs— Labs are located throughout campus with
Mac or PC computers. Students can use them on their own, and
some can be reserved by faculty and staff.
- Classroom
Support—Creates, maintains and supports campus
technology classrooms and lecture halls; and provides television
and Internet services in classrooms, engineering support for
campus television studios, and audiovisual and multimedia equipment
support in classrooms and lecture halls.
- Wireless
in Classrooms— Most classrooms around campus have wireless
Internet access.
- Faculty Training—Computing
training classes are available for faculty at no cost.
- Video
Library—Now
a part of the UCB Libraries.
