Ph.D. STUDENTS
Julia Campbell, Au.D.
Julia recently graduated with her Au.D., and is currently working on her Ph.D. Her research focus lies in auditory evoked potentials, particularly ABR,
and perceptual studies involving various methods of auditory processing.
She enjoys swimming, running, food, the arts, and tuning forks. Julia's CV
Garrett Cardon, Au.D. Ph.D. Candidate After receiving a B.S. in Audiology and Speech Langague Pathology at Brigham Young University in 2004, Garrett has been involved in graduate training at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He graduated with an Au.D. in 2008 and is now working on completeing a Ph.D. in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences and Cognitive Neuroscience. His research is focused on development of the auditory cortex under the conditions of deprivation or abnormal input (i.e., as in Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder, ANSD). When he's not in the lab, you can find him, among other things, camping, backpacking, snowboarding, BBQing and fly fishing. Garrett's CV
Amy Nash-Kille, M.S., CCC-A Ph.D. Candidate
Amy Nash-Kille obtained a Master's degree in Audiology from the University of Utah in 2002. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences. Amy holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. Most of Amy's experience is with the pediatric population, having worked as an educational audiologist for several years before returning to graduate school. She enjoyed working with children and their families, but also loves the university environment. She has taught several undergraduate-level courses for the SLHS Department at CU Boulder, including "Disabilities in Contemporary American Society," and "Science of Human Communication." Current research interests revolve around methods of evaluating dys-synchrony in Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder (ANSD). Eventually, Amy hopes to become involved in research administration. She is also a trained childbirth educator and doula. Amy is a mother of four, enjoys hiking and travel, was a symphony musician in a former life, and likes to garden.

Tim Beneke Au.D Candidate Tim Beneke is doing his Audiology Capstone project in the Brain and Behavior Laboratory.
Robert Isphording Au.D. Candidate
Robert is a 3rd year Audiology student who is interested in studying the effects of tinnitus on auditory and cognitive processing. He completed his undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Indiana University.
Amanda Syzmanski Au.D Candidate
Amanda is a 3rd year AuD student who is interested in pediatric audiology. Her research interests are with children who have chronic otitis media and how it effects the child's ability to develop speech and language at the level of the cortex. She hopes to pursue a career both clinically and research oriented upon graduation.
