Who Should Attend
This conference is intended for individuals who need to design or provide
accessible Web, media and technology in the academic or business setting.
In the past, audiences have included Web designers, Assistive Technologists,
faculty, Web designers and programmers interested in accessibility and persons
with disabilities.

Location
Unlike previous years, this year the conference events will take place at
the Millennium Hotel, not on
the University of Colorado campus.
Over 45 Sessions Including Lectures & Hands-on
Labs
During the four days of this year's Accessing Higher Ground (AHG) conference,
over 45 sessions, including hands-on labs and lectures, will be offered
on the availability and benefits of accessible media and technology in the
university, college and business setting. The pre-conference will include
two days of hands on workshops and lecture sessions.
Special Sessions
EASI Track, ATACP, AHEAD & WebAim Sessions
Equal Access to Software & Information (EASI)
will present a series of sessions on library access.
CSUN’s AT Applications Certificate Program (ATACP)
This year, AHG will partner with California State University, Northridge
(CSUN) to host the “Assistive
Technology Applications Certificate Program (ATACP)”. The CSUN
training will run concurrent with the AHG preconference on Tuesday and Wednesday
(Nov. 8 & 9). Attendees who register for both the AHG main conference
(Nov. 10 & 11) and ATACP (Nov. 8 & 9) will receive a 10% discount
on both events. (Registration for this event alone or in tandem with the
AHG main conference must be done at the ATACP site above.)
On Wednesday, the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD)
will sponsor two preconference sessions related to the NIMAS e-text initiative.
A half-day preconference workshop (Nov. 8) on “Beyond E-Text - Managing
an E-Text Production Initiative for your Campus” and a full day hands-on
lab on technical issues related to the lecture topic: “Beyond E-Text
- Preparation and Distribution of E-Books and E-Text materials.”
WebAIM (Web Accessibility in Mind)
will conduct two half-day hands-on workshops during the preconference on
the topic of “The Next Generation of Web Accessibility: Perceivable,
Operable, Understandable, Robust (POUR).” The first session will address
“Principles of a POUR Web site” and the second session cover
“Techniques for a POUR Web site.” Attendees may attend either
session or both.

Business Track
Rocky Mountain ADA & IT Center will sponsor and present
a track of business/employer related sessions on November 10th on topics
such as Using Assistive Technology to make Accommodations in the Workplace
and Retrofitting Business Web sites for Accessibility.
