JFW 3.5 Tables Navigation Support for Many Applications
There are new navigation keys to be used when in a table. These commands read the contents of the cell, along with the associated row and column headings. The same keystrokes can be used to navigate tables in Microsoft Access databases, Excel, Internet Explorer 5, PowerPoint, and Word, and in Corel QuattroPro and WordPerfect.
To read row and column headings, first go into the application you wish to use, then press Insert+V to open the JAWS Verbosity Dialog box. Down arrow until you land on "Table Title Reading". Press the spacebar to toggle through the various choices and stop when you hear "both titles". Press Enter to close the Verbosity Dialog Box and your settings will be automatically saved for that table.
ALT+CTRL+NUM PAD 5, Say Current Cell. Reads the row and column coordinates of the current cell, followed by the cell contents and then the appropriate row and column headings.
Note: Because of this new function for ALT+CTRL+NUM PAD 5, CTRL+NUM PAD 5 is now used to read the current paragraph.
ALT+CTRL+RIGHT ARROW, Cell to Right. Moves the focus to the next cell in the same row and then announces the column heading followed by cell contents and then the column number.
Note: In verbosity setting higher than beginner you will not hear the new column number.
Note: If there is no cell to the right in the current row the user is told, "end of row" and then reads the current cell content again.
ALT+CTRL+LEFT ARROW, Cell to Left. Moves the focus to the previous cell in the same row and then announces the column heading followed by cell contents and then the column number.
Note: In verbosity setting higher than beginner you will not hear the new column number.
Note: If there is no cell to the left in the current row the user is told, "beginning of row" and then reads the current cell content again.
ALT+CTRL+DOWN ARROW, Cell Below. Moves the focus to the cell below the current cell and reads the row heading followed by cell contents and then the row number.
Note: In verbosity setting higher than beginner you will not hear the new column number.

ALT+CTRL+UP ARROW, Cell Above. Moves the focus to the cell above the current cell and then announces the row heading followed by cell contents and then the row number.
