Purpose:
To provide awards to arts and sciences students in classics, comparative literature, English, French or Italian, Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literature, history, philosophy, Spanish or Portuguese, or theater who have successfully completed Ph.D. comprehensive exams (or equivalent benchmark units without comprehensive exams) at time award period begins.
