Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Foundation Scholarships

Purpose:

To provide several scholarships of $5,000 per year to full-time undergraduate or graduate students with a major in engineering or the natural sciences who have a 3.5 GPA or higher and research experience. Preference given to students with 2-3 years remaining in their degree programs.

Donor Information:

The ARCS' Foundation is dedicated to helping fill our country's great need for scientists and engineers by providing scholarships to academically outstanding students in need of financial assistance, thereby contributing not only to the advancement of science, but also to the material and intellectual welfare of man. Nationally, ARCS has rewarded more than 9,500 scholars with over $45,000,000. The Denver chapter of ARCS is one of eight chapters nationwide. Since 1976 this chapter has awarded 417 scholarships totaling $1,424,500 ($149,000 in 2003) to students from Colorado Universities.

Application Information:

Eligibility for ARCS scholarships in A&S are limited to students nominated through the Departments of Applied Mathematics; Astrophysical and Applied Planetary Sciences; Ecology & Evolutionary Biology; Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology; Chemistry & Biochemistry; Geological Sciences; Mathematics; Physics; Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences; and Environmental Sciences. Deadline varies. Submit FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as possible after January 1. The FAFSA can be found online here.
