Procedures for 2007 Crisp Fellowship

 

1.     All documents must be delivered to Jerry Peterson at Campus Box 390 or to Susan Prince at Campus Box 248 by 5:00 p.m. on Friday March 2, 2007.  If using campus mail, allow adequate time for delivery or hand deliver.  Campus Box 390 is located near the main entrance of Duane Physics, and Susan is on the third floor of Eaton HUMN.  No letters of recommendations or other documents can be accepted after the March 2, 2007deadline, and none can be accepted from members of the Crisp Fellowship Selection Committee.

2.     Required documents include the following:

A.   Application form (attached)

B.   Transcript ( need not be ‘official’)

C.   Letters of recommendation; a minimum of two and a maximum of four.  These are to emphasize academic excellence and promise.

D.   Personal essay, emphasizing academic goals for graduate study; no longer than one full page, single-spaced

E.    List of graduate schools to which you have applied and the status of these applications, if this information is available

Please submit these materials in triplicate.

3.     Barring extenuating circumstances, recipients of Crisp Fellowships must use the award in the academic year following that in which it is received.  Fellowships are only for graduate study in the liberal arts, and not for professional school.

4.     Applications will be considered only for students initiated into Alpha of Colorado Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, or those who will be initiated at the Spring 2007 ceremony.

5. Announcements of the winners will be made by March 19, and awards made at the Spring 2007 Initiation, at 5 PM Sunday April 29 in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom.
