Attending:  William Adams, Robert Beyer, Nina Molinaro, Jerry Peterson, Jon Rush, Marlyn Spelman, Nancy Watson, Michael Wertheimer, Ted Young.

I.                   Call to order: Jerry Peterson, President

 

II.                Minutes of 10/18/04 and 2/23/05 were approved

 

III.             Chapter elections for position of Secretary/Treasurer:  Lori Goodman was unanimously elected to the position.  Alpha Chapter will pay her.  She will store PBK property and provide a meeting area for chapter meetings. 

 

IV.             Report of the Secretary/Treasurer:  The current balance of the PBK account is about $268,000.  PBK continues to operate at a loss. 

 

V.                Report of the Membership Committee (Jerry):

All invitees passed the honor code check.  However, several failed the Judicial Affairs check.  Three cases were presented to the chapter members and the members present voted unanimously to issue invitations to all three students.    

 

VI.             Election of New Members in Course: Names put forth by membership committee were unanimously approved.

 

VII.     CRISP Fellowship update:  The committee received two nominations and

           Heather Demerest, an outstanding candidate, was selected. 

 

VIII.    Old Business:

Members asked Jerry to find comparison data to other schools of the same    size and quality in order to make a decision regarding changing the membership criteria.  They also requested that the chapter look at the national policy.  Jerry will look into this.

 

IX.             New Business:

a.       The spring ceremony is on April 24, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. Betsy Hoffman has been invited but has neither accepted nor declined the invitation.

b.      April 25th there will be a regional PBK Visiting Scholar, Bill Reinhart who is a chemical physicist.  Krista Beck from JILA is in charge of this event.

c.       Jerry’s term will be up in June 2006 and he does not plan to run for another term.
