Faculty Position in Theoretical High Energy Physics at the University of Colorado
The Department of Physics at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position to start in August 2013, in theoretical high energy physics in the area of lattice gauge theory. The initial appointment will be a cooperative fellowship with the RIKEN BNL Research Center (RBRC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory for a period of up to five years. During this period the Assistant Professor/Fellow will spend about half of his/her time at the University of Colorado and the remaining time at the RBRC in BNL. Afterward the position will become a full time faculty appointment at the University of Colorado.
The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent research program in the area of lattice gauge theory utilizing the resources available at RBRC and the University of Colorado. He/she is also expected to take an active role in undergraduate and graduate teaching and advise Ph.D. students. A Ph.D in theoretical high energy or nuclear physics with preferably two years or more postdoctoral experience is required. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
