Please Support the LGBT Studies Certificate Program
The LGBT Studies Certificate Program has grown since it was established in 1995. Students from various disciplines
register for a number of courses in order to increase their knowledge and to receive a LGBT Studies Certificate.
The program has an opportunity now to increase operational funds through a special Gill Foundation Matching Grant
program - and you can help! The Gill Foundation will match gifts dollar for dollar that are designated to the program.
Gill Foundation funding will help support LGBT programs and activities that directly impact students on the CU-Boulder
campus including counseling, educational and support services.
The LGBT Studies Certificate Program Endowment Fund was started during the first Gill Foundation matching grant
opportunity in 2006-2007. Through that effort, we raised over $16,000. We still have a way to go to reach the
endowment minimum of $25,000 (at which point we will be able to use the distributable earnings!)
The deadline for the Gill Foundation match is November 19, 2008.
"The Gill Foundation is proud to support the University of Colorado's comprehensive effort to engage
lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender [LGBT] students and community members. The education and dialogue
that is initiated through this program is helping to advance equality through understanding."
-Julie Voyles, Program Officer, Gill Foundation
