Arts and Sciences Faculty Positions Notice

The Women and Gender Studies Program (WGST) at the University of Colorado

The Women and Gender Studies Program (WGST) at the University of Colorado at Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the field of global/transnational gender studies.

The successful candidate will have a well-developed research agenda and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Although academic discipline and area field are open, WGST is looking for a scholar whose work will complement (rather than duplicate) our existing strengths in political science and Latin America. Within the interdisciplinary field of global/transnational gender studies, areas of interest might include migration, human trafficking, gender and health, feminisms, human rights, the feminization of poverty, and transnational cultural flows. The qualified candidate’s research and teaching will demonstrate a solid grounding in feminist studies. In addition, she/he should be prepared to teach one or more of the program’s core courses; contribute to the program’s thematic emphasis on gender, race, and globalization; and help strengthen this emphasis in cognate departments at CU. The appointment is scheduled to begin August 2008.

We invite applications from advanced ABDs and recent Ph.D.s, including untenured assistant professors with several years’ experience.  We will begin to review applications on November 1, 2007. Send a letter of interest, CV, writing samples, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and three letters of recommendation to:
