Assistant Professor of Portuguese
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Colorado at Boulder announces a tenure-track position in Luso-Brazilian Language and Literature at the Assistant Professor level to begin Fall 2010. PhD or ABD (PhD in hand by August 2010) specializing in any area of Luso-Brazilian studies. Outstanding candidate appointment at a tenured senior level may also be possible. A secondary specialization in Spanish American Literature or Hispanic-Lusophone Linguistics is highly desirable. Other requirements are a native or near-native command of Portuguese, and a strong commitment to both scholarship and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to teach four courses per year in Luso-Brazilian language, culture and literature. Competitive salary.
