Postdoctoral Research Associate
The Department of Applied Mathematics is seeking to fill the position of Postdoctoral Researcher/Teaching Instructor for a two-year term to begin August 2008. Preference will be given to those candidates with excellent research and teaching records and whose portfolio clearly includes Applied Mathematics with applications. One or more years post Ph.D. training is desired. The position will be appointed as a 50% Instructor and a 50% research postdoc, reflecting the expected duties.
This position teaches two courses per academic year, with at least one course being a large undergraduate course. Areas of research expertise within the Department include Mathematical Biology, Computational Mathematics, Statistics and Applied Probability, Nonlinear Waves, Dynamical Systems, Analysis of Differential Equations, and Physical Applied Mathematics.
