Who is my advisor?

The undergraduate advisors for English are Cynthia Drake and Rogelio Garcia and Christine Luft. You can find out who your advisor is by logging in at AAC Advising Web.

How do I email an advisor with a quick answer question?

You can email Rogelio at Rogelio.Garcia@colorado.edu
You can email Cynthia at Cynthia.Drake@colorado.edu
You can email Christine at Christine.Luft@colorado.edu

If you are unsure about who to contact please do not email all three advisors. Rogelio Garcia can be reached at Rogelio.Garcia@colorado.edu. He will get back to you as soon as possible.

How do I make an appointment?

To make an appointment, please go to AAC Advising Web.

Only students who are already assigned to an English advisor will be able to make an appointment online. Others will need to declare a major in English first.

How do I declare a major in English?

To declare an English major, you must attend a 30 minute major declaration meeting in Hellems 124. You must sign up to attend one of these meetings. Space is limited, so attend a meeting as soon as possible to ensure that you can declare your major before the end of the term. To secure your space, please log in with your student ID and PIN at https://aac.colorado.edu/.

Students who arrive after a meeting has begun will be asked to attend another meeting. If you cannot attend a meeting you signed up for, please remove yourself from the list via the same web address.

Once declared, all new majors will be assigned an advisor and will be able to schedule an appointment with that advisor via the academic advising website: http://www.colorado.edu/ArtsSciences/aacforstudents/

What if I need registration advising?

First-year students: We will be offering hands-on Scheduling Workshops for majors in the fall and spring. Dates and times will be emailed to all English majors.

Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors: If you are not sure how to plan your schedule using PLUS Degree Audit, the English major worksheet and PLUS Planning Tools, then you should attend a Scheduling Workshop before making a registration advising appointment.

What if I need graduation advising?

If English is your primary major, you will need to attend a brief workshop to get the application process started. Sign up at aac.colorado.edu
