Newberry Library Center for Renaissance Studies
The Center for Humanities and the Arts is pleased to announce that, thanks to the support of the office of the Dean of Arts and Sciences, the University of Colorado at Boulder is a member of The Newberry Library Center for Renaissance Studies. With this membership, faculty and students at CU are invited to Newberry events, our graduate students are eligible for a number of fellowships available through the Newberry, and we are given a seat on the Executive Committee of the Center. We will keep interested students and faculty informed of upcoming events and application deadlines.
Newberry Travel Awards
In addition, half of our membership fees are rebated in the form of travel funds to be used to work on the materials held at the Newberry. We announce a competition for these travel funds. An internal committee (Matthew Gerber from History, Andy Cowell from French & Italian, and Katherine Eggert from English) will review these applications. We will award 5-6 awards in amounts of $500-1000 this academic year. Awards may be used during AY 2007-08, or summer of 2008.
If you would like to apply, please send a 1-2 page letter specifying your research project; attach a brief budget of expenses. If selected, you will file the request with the Newberry: a request includes the letter of award from CU, receipts, and an expense form (provided with your award letter). You can also find out about the Newberry's programs and seminars at www.newberry.org.
