Internal Grants for CU Faculty

Many new faculty members, not to mention those who have been at CU-Boulder for years, are not aware of the many different internal grant agencies that belong to the CU system and to CU-Boulder. Here is a guide to those agencies, as well as their acronyms.

CU internal grants are primarily for research travel, conference organizing and special events, and speakers, artists, or performers.

Two internal grants provide time off from teaching for research.

First, the Council on Research and Creative Work (CRCW) offers annually a competition for 12-14 year-long research leaves, called Faculty Fellowships. See http://www.colorado.edu/VCResearch/crcw.html

Second, the Center for Humanities and the Arts (CHA) offers release from two courses for faculty who participate in the annual CHA seminar. See http://www.colorado.edu/ArtsSciences/CHA

Brief information about and links to these and other internal CU funding opportunities are found on the chart devised by Katherine Eggert (English) and posted on the Department of English home page. Click here
