Getting the Certificate
To receive the Certificate candidates must:
While not formally required, students are strongly recommended to take at least two years of a Slavic or East European Language. Two years of university-level language study or successful performance on an equivalency examination can be substituted for one of the 3-credit lower division courses. Study Abroad: Students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of a recognized study abroad program in Eastern Europe that is affiliated with the University. The summer program in St. Petersburg, sponsored by the Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures, is especially recommended. CU also has connections with programs in Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Hungary. Consult the Study Abroad Office at 303-492-7741 for details. Courses taken in such a program, as approved by an advisor, will count toward the certificate in CEES. |
