Assignments for Final Class Meeting:

This will be much more prescriptive than what we have been doing. I will count on each continent's group (we will promote Ireland to continental status!)to divide and assign within their own group. Never was able to get a complete email list; sorry.

Individuals may choose to be part of more than one team but I request each individual be on at least one team.

One Irish Team: Be prepared to defend the Irish government rules on what fraction of a food can be from a Genetically Modified Source as sound 'health of humans' science. One US Team: Be prepared to argue the Irish government rules on what fraction of a food can be from a Genetically Modified Source are entirely arbitrary with respect to 'health of humans'.

One Irish Team: Be prepared to criticize the scientific justification for spending billions (U.S. Dollars or Australian Dollars or Euros or Irish Pounds) trying to ameliorate global warming. One Wollongong Team: Be prepared to justify spending billions trying to ameliorate global warming.

One Wollongong Team: Defend the right of parents to employ only native or aboriginal medicines for a sick 3 year old child who has a disease well recognized and highly treatable by western medicine. Assume that western medicine is confident the native strategies will not work. One U.S. Team: Assert the rights of the child to be treated with the best medicine modern science can provide.

All individuals who so choose, have your 'speech' ready to give to everyone else on any or all course topics. Please limit yourself to 5 minutes. This is strictly optional!
