Pre-conference Highlights - Wednesday The pre-conference on Wednesday, November 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offers two tracks of hands-on or a lecture-only workshop, all on the CU-Boulder Campus. An Accessibility Forum for Community Colleges & Universities NCAM and the League for Innovation will conduct "NCAM and The League - an accessibility Forum" as part of the two organizations' National Science Foundation grant, "Demonstration, Enrichment and Information Dissemination to Community Colleges." This session will focus on demonstrating math and science accessibility
solutions and will discuss work underway within industry standards organizations
to create specifications for accessible learning platforms. State-of-the-art
models, guidelines, tools, and resources will be disseminated to help strengthen
capacity within community colleges to create and utilize accessible math
and science content in technology-enabled learning. Hands-on Workshops John Slatin, the founding director of the Institute for Technology and Learning at the University of Texas at Austin, and Jim Allan, Texas School for the Blind and VI, will present a full day workshop on Achieving Web Accessibility with Section 508. Karen McCall, of Karlen Communications, will present a full day workshop
on Building Blocks to Instructional Design, Best Practices Toward
