Pre-conference Highlights
Section 508 and 504 Compliance in the The pre-conference on Wednesday, November 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offers two tracks of hands-on or lecture-only workshops, all on the CU-Boulder Campus. Half & Full Day Hands-on Workshops NCAM will present MAGpie (Media Access Generator), used to create captioning and text description for multimedia and Using Macromedia Tools & Rich Media to Create Accessible Learning Objects. John Slatin, the founding Director of the Institute for Technology and Learning at the University of Texas at Austin, will present a full day workshop on Introducing Web Accessibility for People with Disabilities. Lectures Doug Wakefield, author of the Access Board’s 508
regulations, will discuss implementation of Section 508 in the university
setting and its Web and AT implications. Attorney Tim Sporfford from the Office
of Civil Rights will present Section 504 and Access to Information Technology.
