EASI Mini Institute - Focus on Library Access
Equal Access to Software and Information (EASI)

EASI's mission is to serve as a resource to the education community by providing information and guidance in the area of access-to-information technologies by individuals with disabilities. EASI will offer a series of special sessions on library access and access to library information systems. EASI session topics include:

• Creating a Barrier-Free Virtual Library Environment
• The Accessibility of Commercial Library Databases
• Starting a National Center for Accessible E-learning
• A Report on the Virtual Reference Environment
• A for Accessibility: Ensuring LIS Education for Diversity and Equity of Access

NCAM's mission is to expand access to present and future media for people with disabilities; to explore how existing access technologies may benefit other populations; to represent its constituents in industry, policy and legislative circles; and to provide access to educational and media technologies for special needs students. NCAM session topics include:

• Teaching Every Student: Mind, Media and Instruction
• Specifications for Accessible Learning Technologies
• Pivot: MIT's Web-based Physics Tutor
• Rich Media Access
• Using Macromedia Tools for Accessible Learning
